Found Poetry Scroll no.1

I'm experimenting with yet another method for presenting the found text poems as objects and will finish this little scroll up properly and have it for sale in my shop in the next day or so.  It's made with cut words sandwiched with bits of teabag on a 2" wide length of Japanese paper adhered with teabags.  The poem came from a children's book from many decades ago that is filled with a variety of stories that include multiple choice vocabulary reviews throughout.  I selected the words from one of these reviews...it creates quite the whimsical poem!  Enjoy!

To investigate is to
search
depart
wonder
run frantically
excited
solemn
exploring
saunter     backward    forward
scamper    walk     run
climb
stop.
To wallow means
to wail.
Calico is a kind of
mirror.

Love And Reasons (March 23, 2011)

and possibly
Instead of is
it could be
every day again
ordinary
and a little sad,
lovely silent
memoirs

Conclusion (March 2, 2011)

Poem reads:

we know
what little we know
driven to act the clown
with one side weak
and the other strong

Guest Poet: Brooke Schmidt

HAPPY NEW YEAR...WELCOME TO 2011!!!

Not only is it the first day of a new year, but it is the first of the month and time for a featured poem from a guest poet.  Brooke Schmidt is a wonderful mixed media artist whose work includes found text poems.  I was most delighted to discover her on Etsy and continue to get to know her through her blog and flickr.  All the relevant links are listed below.
I love this piece and am so happy to be able to share it here!  Thanks so much, Brooke!

The Same Dark Blood Stirring (December 31, 2010)

the same
dark blood stirring
the rage of the wounded,
we murmured the grace
like an old song,
and slipped through
the stream of the last
fast-going days.

A Wild Shriek Of Musketry (December 20, 2010)

a wild shriek of musketry
into the pines,
knocking over an empty
dream.
try to persuade patience
I will see about
Fortifications

A Sidewise Glancing (December 29, 2010)

a sidewise, glancing
eyes like lightning
At last they rose,
and sailed
into the air beautifully
half drowned with
gladness

In A Sudden (December 28, 2010)

In a sudden
desperate bravado
he turned away to hide
into a new day

Hands Clutching A White Envelope (December 27, 2010)

hands clutching
a white envelope
The man paused again.
But wait.
plans have changed
Into the kitchen for
some old burgundy.

I Fear For What Is Remembered (December 26 2010)

I fear for
What is remembered
what it has to say.
already running on hibernation
deep in shadowy
here until sunset

If I Have Made You Love Me (December 25, 2010)

if I have made you love me
with no pretty speeches
Could it mean
you are with fever.
and all too happy
whistling Besides,
No room there for a mare.

Wait (December 21, 2010)

Wait--for liberty!
somewhere in
the Mediterranean
All hands aft!
