Remnants (December 1, 2010)

It is the first of December and time for a feature from a guest poet.  This month the guest is none other than Johntimothy Pizzuto, my wonderful and charming husband!  Johntimothy has been making some found text poems too over the last year and I find his way of putting together these bits of cut phrases together quite fascinating!  Johntimothy is a printmaker and Associate Professor of Printmaking at the University of South Dakota.  Some of his artwork can be found on his website, which is sorely in need of an update!  Hope you enjoy Johntimothy's poem!

      language so difficult be-
  through the tiny openings
the words came again and again
curiousity. "Tell me about
campfires burned low,
     tinder into flame and
Watching each movement
all of life's remnants seem
   innocent to all eyes
