in some loose halfway telling
or another remembered order
the missing part of the night journey
would simply have been
lost for good
some small disappointment
not even noticed
but without a word coming
bright lightning
curtains pulled open wide
suddenly the gaze returning
from the wilderness
who are they if not the
beings denied
alight with a certain receding
