A Rare Privilege (October 23, 2010)

a rare privilege,
to see time paused
interrupted, still
and I hold something anything
this pink-and-white carnation
as though
a vision from beyond
a moment weighs nothing

Between Here And The Next Dawn (October 11, 2010)

between here and
the next dawn
one hundred
wonders waiting
a bowl of momentous
the depth of dreams
for I have seen the queen,
Shall we go
without stopping
into the night

This Good Morning (October 7, 2010)

This
Good morning,
arrived on soundless wings
as if by magic,
Then was
carried off by accident
in a spell of
turning back
time

An Exhilarating Walk (October 5, 2010)

an exhilarating walk through
leaves thick and soft
everything a stillness of
a different color.
and the inevitable
We will have berries for breakfast.

The Night Is Very Dark (September 30, 2010)

The night
is very dark
but For a thousand
flashing fireflies.
I turn over
crossing into the
very midst of dreams
and sleep
a gilded sleep

From A Tiny Envelope (September 27, 2010)

Well, I just have to admit that there will be another gap here of a few days!  My husband and I were on a trip to the Black Hills region of South Dakota for the reception of our collaborative exhibition at Black Hills State University and a workshop he did with students there.  I intended each day to do a found text poem and post as usual, but somehow each day merged into the next and it never worked out.  So, we're back now and I'll begin posting as of now with today's poem....

From a tiny envelope
wrinkled and useless
this little probability
to be crowded with
memories sprawling
across the stillness

Oh, It Is Very Simple (September 20, 2010)

Oh, it is very simple.
a flowered meadow
delicious tea with milk,
and every night
captivated by dreams
embroidered with silence.

When Leaving In Two Directions At Once (September 18, 2010)

When leaving
in two directions at once,
step forward unhindered
glance from branch to branch
And beyond that,
cast your radiant spirits
into the
Already gathering wind

Peer Into The Cool Satin Darkness (September 13, 2010)

peer into the
cool satin darkness
and connect the stars
with a fine golden
line long enough to
follow you home

This Circle Of Stones (September 12, 2010)

this circle of stones
keeping the silent time
of some other history
the spirit slowly taken root
Without an uttered word

Breathing Time (September 11, 2010)

breathing time
in waves
each a long
endless flowing
like an outgoing tide.

And Again (September 10, 2010)

And again
even before
the morning came
clouds broke.
a long rain.
tears rolled down
too heavy to hold

What If One Day (September 9, 2010)

what if
one day
we have no
bird calls
spreading across the blue,
no birds darting here and away
only this uninhabited sky
grave and silent

There It Was Again (September 8, 2010)

Yet there it was again,
the narrow spinning time
bewildered
I disappeared into the cave
and waited
quiet magnified
eyelids shut
my vision, found.
It fell from my hand
almost too sweet to bear.

What Must I Do Now? (September 7, 2010)

What must I do now?
I am here More than ever
between something fringing
a waited for presence
daring beyond imagination,
Please tell me
I have been searching
But I see only
a plate of berries.

In A Blur Of Lamplight (September 6, 2010)

in a blur of lamplight
The pages fluttered
their movements
in secret reverence
as though to awaken
every word discovered
sleeping

To The Wide World (September 5, 2010)

To the wide world
many toasts
good wishes
there is a great
prancing into being
this web of life
so rich with
our dreams.

It Is Time To Tell You Who I Am (September 3, 2010)

It is time to tell you who I am
I come from the
generations beneath
These dark streets
Moving through time,
as though on a current of water
You will soon learn
your pleading questions
have no answer

A Momentous Decision (September 2, 2010)

a momentous decision
run up the stairs
to fling my old longings
through the window
into a long fluid darkness
a glistened moment
the trail silver

It Was Only A Thin Meantime (September 1, 2010)

It was only
a thin meantime
I awoke
in a bit of starlight
The moment encircled
luminous, cloudless and
awaiting
